    Mother's Day

I didn't expect any of the usual "done" things for Mother's Day.  Since my little one is too young to organize anything on her own, it would have to come down to my husband to get the obligatory flowers/gift/card - and since he hates these designated days to celebrate relationships, I didn't hope for any surprises to come my way Smile

But Ankita's teachers at the montessori did a very nice job - getting all sorts of little things ready for her mommy - cards, little things to hang up with her handprints, a big paper flower coloured crazy by my daughter with her crayons! Loved it all. However, the biggest and nicest thing came totally unexpected.

My husband left for Europe on his once-a-month office trip (this time twice/month), and so Ankita was sticking to me all through the day. Sunday afternoon - post all the little pretend games with her tea set and dolls - she sees me removing the already-faded polish from my toes nails and applying a fresh coat. Happy with her bowl of chocolate-covered raisins (she doesn't know there are raisins under the chocolate -- much needed fiber Wink) she sits next to me and says, "Mommy, I will sit next to you. You are my best friend."

Waaaay too cool. That made this mother very happy. Will not forget this either, for I know that in a matter of a few years, this sentiment will be long gone.

Hope you all had a nice weekend with your kids making you feel extra special. Attaching a picture of me with my mother many moons ago.

Hi, thanks for visiting me .Yes my daughter is getting married on the 28th of this month, this have been kind of hectic, getting things organised. It does need a lot planning and researching , but much better than our times when our parents did not have contractors doing all the relevant jobs.
I remember how tense my parents would be, going around making arrangements for things all by themselves, the house uesd to be in a real mess.
Well things things have surely changed and improved for the best.
Happy Mother's day to you . I am glad your daughter made it a great day for you.
Why don't you put up a recent pic of yours?
    Bye, Rama.

What a lovely post for Mother's Day, Mimi! Mother's don't need to be told that they are loved, but a little gesture of appreciation form time to time is more than enough. I thank God for making me a mother of two wonderful daughters.. ..can't imagine life without them now.
I loved your black-and-white pic. of the yesteryears.
Take care...hopefully, I'm back to Spaces.
    Love, Rdi.
